Read this before you tow anything
The figures on this site are compiled from published manufacturer guides and government databases. They describe a configuration, not your specific vehicle. The certification label inside your driver's door and your owner's manual are the only authoritative sources for what your truck can tow, carry and be fitted with. Overloading a vehicle or fitting the wrong wheel is genuinely dangerous. If a figure here disagrees with your door jamb, your door jamb is right.
What this site is
TruckTally is an independent reference. It is provided free, as-is, for general informational purposes. It is not a substitute for the manufacturer's documentation, a qualified mechanic, or a dealer.
Accuracy
We work hard to get the numbers right and we say on every page where each figure came from — see where our numbers come from. Even so, data is transcribed, sources are revised, and mistakes happen. We make no warranty that the content is complete, current or error-free.
Complaint and recall data is reproduced from the NHTSA defects database. Complaints are unverified reports submitted by vehicle owners; NHTSA does not confirm them and neither do we. A complaint is not a finding of defect, and complaint volume is not a reliability rating. Whether a recall applies to a specific vehicle depends on its VIN — check at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from reliance on anything published here. Decisions about towing, loading, wheel and tire fitment, or vehicle purchase are yours, and should be made against the manufacturer's figures for your specific vehicle.
Trademarks and independence
TruckTally is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Stellantis, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, or any other manufacturer. Model names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification only.
Data sources and licensing
Complaint, recall and vehicle-identification data comes from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and is in the US public domain. Towing and payload figures are compiled from manufacturers' published guides, with the specific publication cited on each page. Our own compilation, calculations and written explanations are our copyright — please link rather than republish.
Acceptable use
Use the site normally and you will never run into this section. Please do not scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other people, republish the database wholesale, or present the content as your own.
Advertising
We intend to display third-party advertising to fund the site. Adverts are not endorsements, we do not control their content, and no advertiser has any influence over the figures we publish. See the privacy policy for how advertising affects cookies.
